It looks like the EP which will be titled Nite You Surprised Me will be released on Firefly Sessions, home of our friends, This Is A Process Of A Still Life, Scott Kennedy, and Purrbot.
You can listen to another song from the EP
Posted by john at November 3, 2005 12:13 AMDude, I like the stuff off the new e.p. Surprisingly. I like it a lot, in a way your older stuff was never liked. I'm planning on buying it, in fact.
Just wanted to note that for your encouragement.
Posted by: Noel at November 3, 2005 7:49 PMJohn, I have this tradition (I'm not sure why) where Sarah and I will be home and we'll just sit and read together, or do house cleaning, or whatever, and while we're hanging out, I like to play music on a song list titled "home." It consists of good relaxing, chill-out music that helps us settle down at the end of a long day. The artists are the usual suspects that range from Iron and Wine to Kings of Convenience to Sigur Ros....etc. Anyway, everytime an artist comes on that you've interviewed, I'll ask Sarah if she likes the song, and when She answers "yes," which is usually the case, I'll say, "John interviewed them." I guess it's my subtle way of showing her how proud I am of you and the cool things you've done. Usually, she'll respond, "cool." But this time when Shiny by The Decembrists came on, I did the usual and she responded, "cool for John" in a really high pitched, sarcastc and annoying sound that sounded like, "who gives a rats ass." I'm not sure why I'm telling you this except exposing the cuteness I see in my wife and the nerdyness in myself.
By the way Masedog, does The Professor by Damien Rice may you feel giddy as a little girl too?
Posted by: Illman at November 3, 2005 9:08 PMDavid,
I'm glad your wife doesn't give a rats ass about me. That's the kind of attitude I love to see in preachers wives.
Posted by: John at November 3, 2005 9:36 PMReally?
Posted by: Illman at November 3, 2005 9:48 PMOh yeah. I know a lot of pastors wives. And all the cool ones got a 'tude.
Posted by: John at November 3, 2005 10:00 PMIll, I gotta be honest. Damian's cool but for that kind of uber-sensitivity I go for the aforementioned Kings of Convenience or Sigur Rose or the more low key bits of Josh Rouse. Damian's a lightweight. If we're talking giddy, give me 'Little Kids' off Quiet is the New Loud.
...which it is, actually.
Yah, Rouse is part of the list...
