Where In The World Are The Quiet Ones These Days?

Everywhere.

You may have noticed in our Myspace bulletins that we are attacking it bicoastal style. Chris has been taking some time and jamming it on the one with his side project The Exploding High Fives.

I have been spending most of my holiday time in a one room cabin in the woods in East Tennessee. Here I have been reading Thomas Merton, Flannery O'Connor, writing and recording songs, and enduring more consecutive days without human contact than ever in my life. I have been watching science fiction television, Star Trek and Doctor Who, and I've been listening to Gram Parsons, Captain Beefheart and the new Blitzen Trapper. I spent some time traveling around the southeast playing with musicians you haven't heard of and I have been planning 2009 for the Quiet Ones.

It looks like 2009 will bring the release of Better Walk Than Ride Like That on CD as well as an EP in the summer. Nite You Surprised Me, our EP from 2006 will be added to iTunes soon.

David, has been busy at work writing tunes for the next Quiet Ones album and there are some gorgeous ones too. Fans of "Hard To Explain" and "Valerie" will like to hear that the next Quiet Ones record will be the most Double D laden album yet. It is definitely a time of creative flourishing at Q1 Global, Inc. Be sure to check out Baine and David's other band This Is A Process Of A Still Life at the post-rock festival in January playing with Seattle legends Earth.

Thanks to all who keep buying the new record Better Walk Than Ride Like That on iTunes, we keep getting checks, it's nice for a poor boy band like us.
