Be Cool Honey Bunny.

Alot of you have seen the Quiet Ones. We've been known to get a little sloppy in our sets with covers we've never actually played before and stuff like that. Ryan onced dubbed a show of ours the "special olympics of rock". But you can always count on our sets being less than 45 minutes. Sometime 30. Which is why it was so freaking bizarre to me last night when we played a show, the promoter and sound guys thought we played to long (we were in our 20th minute) and turned the PA system off while I was singing. It was one of the most obnoxious things that's ever been done to me on a gig. I then told that to the promoter outside the bar, thinking he would say "yes there was a better way to deal with that I'm sorry" but instead he told me that I was too worked up about it and that he was sorry I "misunderstood" (although each member of the band specifically heard him say that we could start anytime up until 10, which is still an early start to a show by most standards). So we played from around 9:40 to 10:00. Our drummer who is from out of town drove all the way back for work the next day having played five songs. Eventually, at the end of the night, the promoter apologized, which helped me out, but not before I smoked a pack of American Spirits to calm myself down. My band was like Tim Roth in Pulp Fiction and I was the girl, and they were telling me to be cool. Even though I've gotten to where I can act not mad, they know me well enough, especially David.

So I'm pretty sick right now. It makes me think of a song a buddy of mine wrote called "Summer Of Down and Out".

Everyone should read the interviews below.
