Free Acoustic Album Coming Soon, Robert Pollard Vs. A.C. Newman.

I think we finally got all the kinks in the schedule worked out.

I'm working of a solo EP/album right now. It's gonna only be obtainable on this website. When I say solo, I mean just me and guitar 'cause that's where I like to get down to business- behind the neck of a guitar.

The Oblio Joes rocked my socks off again at the Old Post on Friday. I forget their website right now but it's on the links section of our website.

Lately, I've been listening to a lot of the Silver Jews, as mentioned previously and as always, Steely Dan. Especially Aja and Pretzel Logic. Also, I got this Guided By Voices tape for my car Under The Bushes Under The Stars and I've been noticing the influence Pollard has on A.C. Newman. Every GBV song on that record could be a future New Pornographers song if it had like 12 more vocals and instruments. Simple pop melodies and eighth note guitar strumming with chord resolutions that are sometimes suprising, and really short songs with as much packed into them as possible. I know it ruins my indie credentials, but I like Newman better.

Also, for more free music by the Quiet Ones, we posted this.

You guys need to play GBV's "Teenage FBI."
John, the song is perfect for your voice.
