There are a lot of goings on at Q1 Central these days.

First off, on Tuesday, I will set out on a three day stint, a jaunt, if you will, around the Puget Sound with Marty Marquis of our favorite North Western band, Blitzen Trapper. This will entail a lot of acoustic sing a longs and foot stompin'. The dates for that are

Tues July 29 The Boiler Room, Port Townsend
Wed July 30 The Sunset, Ballard
Thur July 31 Le Voyeur, Olympia

Secondably, our much awaited album, Better Walk Than Ride Like That, will be release in mid August through our own In Advance Records on 140gram vinyl, with hand made screen printed covers, and FREE DIGITAL DOWNLOAD COUPON included. The first pressing, will be extremely limited (only 100 copies) and will only be available through Seattle retailers and from the band ourselves. The second pressing will be more available nationally and details for that release will come soon. But as of now, you will probably be able to order the album, Better Walk Than Ride Like That, online through the websites of Seattle retailers.

A tour will follow, and the dates for such are-

Fri Aug 15 Portland
Sat Aug 16 Redding
Sun Aug 17 San Francisco
Mon Aug 18 Chico
Tues Aug 19 Oakland

"For some reason I never heard Shya—or anyone else I know from Seattle—say anything like "In Seattle I would never be attacked on public transportation" or "If we were in Seattle right now we would not be playing two-person poker on a Saturday night drunk." People from Alabama or Florida or anywhere else seem to always be talking about how Alabama and Florida are a lot better than wherever they currently are, I think because they are trying to convince themselves that they were not "cheated" out of something by growing up in Biflow, Florida. It isn't sarcastic at all when someone from Alabama says they wish they were back in Alabama. But people from Seattle when elsewhere somehow do not ever try to convince themselves of anything, I think because they feel like if they say something like "In Seattle my chicken fingers would never be served raw by accident" it would be like saying "A poodle is a kind of dog" in that it's "an accepted fact" to people from Seattle that Seattle is "better" in the same way that it is "an accepted fact" that poodles are dogs. Someone would never try to say that a poodle is a kind of cat."

We're trying to get rid of ou current van and get a bigger one. Our crew has grown and the amount of stuff we have has as well, the only answer is an expensive trailer or a 15 passenger van. Last night we went to Rainier, OR to look at a van that seemed like a pretty sweet deal on Craigslist (that's right, I just linked to craigslist, in case some people have never heard of it) but when we got there the "four year old engine" was covered in rust and duct tape. Aftwerwards we were so dissappointed we had a tough time convincing Mr. Manager to go but we went to Portland.

Everything is hipper in Portland, the bars are open later, everybody's more laid back, it's safer there, they have Mesh and we don't BUT everytime I go to Portland I feel a bit suffocated because everyone there is exactly like me and there is absolutely nothing that makes me special, almost like a whole city of Capital Hill.

Anyway it's a good place to visit for me and come back from.

I am tired of this primary and I want Hillary to drop out of the race. I'm tired of the Rovian way she has run her campaign, it makes me see her as a part of the same machine that John McCain is. Between Clinton and McCain, I would rather vote for Clinton than McCain but I would also rather punch her in the face than McCain. I don't understand how our country and our media spent a week and a half dwelling on the words of a former Obama pastor, essentially making Barack responsible for his words, but the media only spends a day talking about Hilary's lies about her trip to Bosnia and her depiction of herself as some sort of Bond girl.

She's proven over and over again that she's willing to do anything to get the nomination, even attack her own party members, and unlike George Bush, whose tricks int he 2000 primary gave him the edge over John McCain, she hasn't even been able to preserve a mathmatical possibility for her victory.

Obama is the perfect president to lead us into a new century. He challenges not just our laws, but our thinking and our systems that lead to those laws. Clinton is a candidate of the 90's. Those of us who are poor and keep getting poorer, who can't pay loans, and therefore get deeper in debt, who are tired of living in a country that progresses three steps forward and five steps back at a time, see Obama as the first true progressive candidate for president in our life time and as an ounze of hope against everything that is dissillusioning about this country.

My brother David and I were just herded into a room with all of our neighbors who have complained about music and called the cops on us in the past. It just so happened that this room was only filled with people from our neighborhood. There was a woman across the room who particularly bangs on our door when we play saying that noon is too early for us to be making noise (although sitting next to me was the man that said that five is too late). The woman was glaring at me and wearing a Hillary sticker. David and I wrote in on our forms when we signed in that we wanted Barack so we ended up not staying but apparently according to our delegate, the church that we were caucusing in was twice as croweded as last time they had a caucus there.

Barack spoke at Key Arena and I was at work within a block but didn't want to battle the 20,000 people and almost as many cars to get over there but I heard it was an awesome speech.
